Illustration Friday: Double
July 28, 2010Whew. Been so busy with client stuff, haven’t submitted anything to Illustration Friday for a while, much less made any personal pieces.
Anyway, about the topic – remember in elementary school, when a kid would have a pudding cup? Oh my god, everyone wanted to be their friend, get them to trade for that pudding cup. Can you imagine the awe and wonder in the eyes of a child with TWO pudding cups? The possible pandemonium? Neither can I, but I drew it anyway.

Illustration Friday: Early
May 27, 2010Submitting this to www.illustrationfriday.com; the theme this week was “Early”.
This piece is about early enlightenment. Straight from the womb. Also, I finished this early in the morning and I’m tired and I just want to sleep and I don’t want to make the piece look not terrible anymore.

Illustration Friday: Expire
March 23, 2010Alright, so explanation for this week’s Illustration Friday picture: the Crane Game works by aligning the claw over a prize, and you can either press the button to lower the claw, or wait for the time to EXPIRE. I’m sure that kid is too nervous to do anything but let the claw go down on it’s own.
Anyway, this is the sketch for the piece:

Coloring changed a little bit, but otherwise, similar, eh?

Illustration Friday: Subterranean
March 17, 2010Done for www.illustrationfriday.com. I thought of the juxtaposition of above ground creatures and subterranean ones, and I kind of went crazy from there.

Textorizor
March 16, 2010Came across this gem today: TEXTORIZOR
You put in a small image file, and it churns out a copy of it using a word you insert as the stroke for the image. To show you what I mean, I put in a few of my images in there and saw what came out:
Anyway, this tool has been an absolute blast to use, and I’d love to see what everyone can do with it. I imagine this would be especially cool with line art. Time to bring out the old pen and quill, I think…
